Ursula van der Leyen, head of the European Union Commission, emphasized in her speech that the European Union’s assistance to Ukraine will continue until the last moment of Ukraine’s independence.
Referring to her and a number of Western officials’ visit, she wrote on X’s social page: “Our visit emphasizes our unbreakable solidarity with Ukraine. Your country has become a symbol of resistance and freedom. We sincerely support your We stand by and we are committed to make Russia pay the price of its destructive war.”

Since the beginning of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Kiev has been dependent on financial and military aid from the West, especially the United States. But Ukraine is facing a shortage of military equipment and ammunition recently, because the US Congress has not approved a 61 billion dollar aid package for this country.
Russia refers to its military invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, as a “special operation”, but Ukraine and its Western allies consider this move by Russia as an open war against an independent state.
