Ying Wah Primary School answered all the compulsory questions correctly and won the championship for the third time with 530 points. St. Peter’s Primary School won the runner-up with 500 points but failed to defend the title. Wang Yu, a student of the school, was awarded the Best Performance Award. Diocesan Girls’ School and S.K.H. Fung Kei Millennium Primary School won the third and fourth place with 430 and 340 points respectively. The finals adopted a 4-team competition system, divided into three parts: compulsory questions, quick response questions and challenge questions, covering classical literature, The Analects, Chinese culture and history, and poetry rhythm.

Primary school is a critical learning stage, and the Education Bureau has launched a number of activities to enhance students’ language and cultural learning experiences.

The captain of Ying Hua Primary School, Shi Zhuowen, who won the championship in the finals, said that he was particularly excited about winning the championship and sincerely thanked his teammates and teachers for their hard work in preparing for the competition. This is his third year participating in the competition. He believes that in addition to the awards and rankings, what is more important is that he and his classmates learned the essence of Chinese culture and understood the principles behind it. He revealed that another major gain from this competition was the cultivation of a spirit of unity and tacit understanding with his teammates.
