WI vs SA 2nd Test 1st Day Highlights: The second match of the Test series between West Indies and South Africa has started. The match is being played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The first match of this series was a draw. Now 17 wickets have fallen on the first day of the second match. The batsmen of both the teams knelt before the fast bowlers. After South Africa were bowled out for 160 in the first innings, West Indies’ score is 97 for 7.

The fast bowlers troubled South Africa right from the start. Opener Tony DeGeorge was bowled by Jayden Seals for just one run. Shamar Joseph then dismissed Makraram and skipper Bavuma in three balls. Even after this, not a single batsman could play consistently. South Africa lost 9 wickets for 97 runs. After this, Dan Peet and Andre Berger shared a partnership of 63 runs for the last wicket. With this, South Africa’s score reached 160. Piet played the highest knock of 38 runs for the team. Shamar Joseph, who was amazing with the ball on the tour of Australia earlier in the year, dismissed 5 batsmen. Seals also got 3 wickets.

It didn’t take long for South Africa to counterattack on a pitch that was difficult to bat on. In the second over, Berger dismissed Michael Lewis. Skipper Brathwaite (3) could not stay at the crease for long. Casey Carty’s fifth blow to West Indies was 47 runs. However, after this, Jason Holder stood on one end. He added 41 runs for the 7th wicket with Gudakesh Moti. On the last ball of the day, Moti was bowled by Keshav Maharaj. Holder is currently unbeaten on 33 runs. Vianne Mulder took 4 wickets and Berger took 2 wickets.

South Africa’s Wian Mulder bowled brilliantly on the first day’s play. Vian bowled just 6 overs in the first day’s play and took 4 wickets for 18 runs. Apart from dismissing West Indies captain Craig Brathwaite, Wian also dismissed Alik Athanaj, Kevum Hodge and Joshua de Silva.

The superb performance by the bowlers on the first day of the Guyana Test between the West Indies and South Africa can be gauged from the fact that there were a total of 10 players who failed to reach double figures, including both teams’ innings. Of these, 5 players returned to the pavilion after getting out for zero.
