Is a thaw in the relationship between former couple Komuro and KEIKO imminent?

“Shall the first guest be Tetsuya Komuro? (laughs)”

It was none other than KEIKO who made this statement on the radio on May 6th.

This was during a radio show called “JOY TO THE OITA+” (OBS Radio) where KEIKO and Mark Panther are regular guests. The show was broadcast in KEIKO’s hometown of Oita Prefecture, and as they were talking about inviting a guest, she made a shocking statement.

Komuro and KEIKO’s divorce was finalized in 2021 following Komuro’s adultery scandal.

At the time of their divorce, KEIKO had criticized Komuro’s behavior, so it is clear that she has had a change of heart. These words, which could be interpreted as a sign that the ice between the former couple is about to thaw, make us look forward to the relaunch of Globe next year.

–Now, let’s look back at the history of globe and the changes in the relationship between Komuro and KEIKO.

Globe is a unit formed by music producer Komuro, rapper Mark, and vocalist KEIKO, who was selected through a new talent audition.

They debuted with the single “Feel Like Dance” on August 9, 1995. Their first album “globe” sold 4.5 million copies, a record in Japan at the time, and they quickly rose to stardom.

When globe was formed, Komuro was dating the singer Tomomi Kahara, whom he was producing, so KEIKO was merely a fellow member of the group. However, their relationship seems to have changed after Komuro and Kahara broke up, and the two got married in November 2002.
