On the 3rd, the professional basketball team, the Fukui Blowins, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Sugimoto and spoke about their enthusiasm for this season as they take on the B2 League.
The visit to the prefectural office was made by 14 players and staff from the Fukui Blowins.
Blowins representative Yumoto stated his enthusiasm for the season, saying, “This season we will be able to show even more thrilling and aggressive games,” to which Governor Sugimoto encouraged the team, saying, “We must unite the power of the people of the prefecture to build the Fukui Arena. To that end, I hope you will win the championship.”
Head coach Isa said, “We had a lot of fans come to the stadium last year, so we want to put up a winning performance this season, especially at home. Our team style will be the same as last year, and we hope to continue playing up-tempo basketball.”
Captain Mitsuta also spoke of his aspirations, saying, “We want to play a gritty opening game, never give up until the end, and deliver an exciting opening match that will inspire everyone, no matter what the outcome. Of course, our absolute goal is to win the B2 division and be promoted to the B1 division.”
The season will kick off on October 5th with a home game against the Shinshu Brave Warriors, and the team will play a total of 60 games throughout the season.
