LG Uplus is holding a recruitment event in the US to recruit global talent in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). LG Uplus executives will also be in attendance at the event.
LG Uplus announced on the 2nd that it plans to secure AI talent through the conference-style recruitment event ‘LG Uplus US Fair’ in Silicon Valley, USA. The US Fair will be held for 7-8 days. The event will be attended by graduates (or expected graduates) of master’s and doctoral degrees from major American universities such as UC Berkeley, Georgia Tech, Yale, and Duke.
Since last July, LG U+ has been recruiting participants from various majors, including electronics, electrical engineering, communications, computers, industrial engineering, statistics, psychology, and MBA, through document screening, coding tests, and online first interviews.
The management also participated. LG Uplus CTO Lee Sang-yeop, CHO Yang Hyo-seok, etc. will attend the event in person. AX Technology Group Director Jeon Byeong-gi, Data Science Lab Director Cho Hyeon-cheol will also attend. Researcher Park Dae-hoon, who joined LG Uplus through the first US Fair held last year, will also attend in person.
LG U+ is focusing on finding talent specialized in AI at this event. In fact, this year’s event attendees are mainly comprised of experts in AI fields such as large language models (LLM), natural language processing (NLP), vision, and speaker recognition.
The US Fair is held in the form of an invitation event where attendees can naturally network with each other. Attendees will hear explanations about LG U+’s AI technology and projects it has carried out so far. There will also be a place to understand the company’s technological capabilities and organizational culture by talking with current employees.
LG U+ plans to strengthen its promotional activities by visiting excellent universities in the U.S. and conducting individual interviews. The U.S. Fair will also be held regularly every year.
Lee Won-hee, HRBP manager at LG Uplus, said, “This year, as the event is being held in Silicon Valley, we hope that global talent, including career employees working at nearby AI-related startups, will join LG Uplus to further strengthen our technological competitiveness.”
