Referreport
Surprise through Volkswagen: Potential customers are likely to sit up and take notice because the car manufacturer is lowering the prices for the ID.3. And very soon – and significantly. As the “Automobile Week” reports, the list price for the entry-level version of the compact electric model even slips below the 30,000 euro mark.
New price is a declaration of war
The Stromer should be available from dealers from October 1, 2024 for 29,760 euros. The discount is also a political signal in the crisis, writes Automobilwoche, as there has recently been clear criticism, among other things, of the fact that interested parties have so far been looking in vain for a cheap entry-level model for e-mobility in the VW portfolio. At the moment, the ID.3 Pure with 52 kWh battery is significantly more expensive; the VW configurator shows a base price of 36,900 euros. The list price will be reduced to 33,330 euros from the beginning of October; in combination with a separate VW purchase bonus of 3,570 euros, the final price will be 29,760 euros.
Price reduction for a limited time
The price of the ID.3 is falling again. For comparison: In December 2022, buyers still had to pay around 44,000 euros for the electric entry-level model from VW. The lower price is initially valid until the end of 2024. “Our goal is to inspire as many customers as possible to switch to electric Volkswagens. Attractive starting prices play an important role in this,” said the new VW sales boss Martin Sander: “We have worked intensively on our internal costs. That is why we can now offer the ID.3 Pure at a significantly lower price.”
