The numerous dramas about truly beautiful and sensual women and pathetic yet endearing men, drawn with Akiko Monden’s delicate touch, have captivated many readers, with a total circulation of over 1.8 million for volumes 1 to 7. It becomes.
How was the legendary MV “bubble dancer” born?
And in this masterpiece “Seeds of Eros”, content from the past is born.
That is the MV “Awahime Bubble Dancer”.
The MV features a sensual and mellow scene from “Seed of Eros” accompanied by sad vocals interspersed with the catchy phrase “bubble dancer.”
In fact, the lyrics of this song originate from Monden’s best friend, Naoki Prize-winning author Shino Sakuragi, who also lives in Hokkaido.
Shino Sakuragi, who often writes lyrics to give her brain a rest, wrote a poem based on the word “bubble dancer” that suddenly came to her, and wrote the lyrics for the manga “Blues” that was being serialized at the time (original work/illustration by Shino Sakuragi). It seems brave that he sent it to the editor in charge of the magazine (Akiko Monden) with the message, “Please do as you like.”
The editor happened to be a guitarist and a musician, so he added a melody and vocals to the lyrics of “Bubble Dancer”, and was inspired by listening to that number in “Seeds of Eros”, which Monden is currently serializing. I drew a short manga called “Awahime Bubble Dancer” (included in “Seeds of Eros” Volume 6).
Monden says, “The moment I read Shino Sakuragi’s lyrics, I thought, “Oh, I could write a short story.”
