May 30, 2019 (AFP) – Jacaranda flowers are in full bloom in Portugal’s capital Lisbon, painting the city in vibrant blue-purple hues.
It is said to have been brought to Portugal from South America in the 19th century, and the director of a local botanical garden describes its blooming as “the tidings of early summer.”
Petals were scattered under the jacaranda tree, creating a scene that looked like a blue-purple carpet. Many tourists enjoyed taking photos with the trees and flowers in the background.
The video was shot on the 23rd. (c)AFP
