• Supports populist economic policies and advocates for widespread tariffs, especially against Chinese goods. Some of Vance’s economic policies run counter to Republican conservatives, such as supporting antitrust and demanding an increase in the minimum wage, which has caused controversy within the Republican Party.

• He opposed continuing to provide aid to Ukraine and firmly supported Israel in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He claimed that Asia is the focus of US foreign policy for the next 40 years.

•Opposes immigration, supports continued construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall, and once said that aid funds to Ukraine would be better used to defend the southern border.

Abortion

• Opposes abortion and once expressed support for a nationwide ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy, but recently followed Trump in softening his stance, claiming that the matter should be decided by the states.

•A staunch supporter of the oil and gas industry, Vance is skeptical of climate change and opposes wind power, solar power and electric vehicles.
