US Citizens Abroad Applying for a Federal Post Card; Indications are that the trend is in favor of Kamala

Refer Report

It is reported that Vice President Kamala Harris has decided to run as a Democratic candidate in the US presidential election, which is also exciting for US citizens living in Europe. Kamala Harris has garnered enough support to become the Democratic Party’s nominee. The US government’s Federal Voting Assistance Program estimates that 2.8 million Americans living abroad are eligible to vote in federal elections. In 2016, according to the program’s calculations, only 6.9% of them voted.

This time, after the withdrawal of Joe Biden’s candidacy, the unexpected decision of Kamala Harris to become a candidate has given a new awakening to the organization that represents the Democratic Party of the US globally. This led to an increase in voter registration and the number of activists willing to help in the campaign.

There are even reports of non-US citizens wanting to help Kamala. International media also show that American voters abroad are active now. Registrations to vote outside the U.S. through the federal postal card application increased fivefold in the first three days of this week, to more than 3,000 from the same period last week.
