Karachi (Pakistan): Two Chinese were killed in a suicide attack targeting a convoy of Chinese workers in Karachi. Two Chinese nationals were killed and 17 others injured in a suicide attack by a Baloch insurgent group, Pakistan said on Monday.
A suspected suicide bomber was also killed in a blast near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Sunday night. The attack is the latest in a series of attacks on Chinese workers in Pakistan. The deadly attack comes two weeks before the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in the nation’s capital.

The outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif termed the attack as a heinous act and expressed his condolences to the Chinese citizens who were killed. “Pakistan is committed to protecting our Chinese friends,” he wrote in X.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said in Beijing that it was shocked by the attack. “China has requested Pakistan to make every effort to rescue the injured and bring the perpetrators to justice,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
