Trump campaign raises $200 million in July, up 24% from the previous month, as assassination attempt draws attention

The campaign of former US President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the US presidential election, announced on the 1st that it raised about $138.7 million in campaign funds in July, a 24% increase from about $111.8 million in the previous month.

Trump survived an assassination attempt on July 13, and it is believed that the increase in his funds was due to the fact that he attracted attention from across the nation. His cash reserves are said to be $327 million. (Kyodo News)
