“Turning in place” does not maintain the fulcrum position

By rotating your body, you can maximise the size of the pendulum, resulting in a more efficient swing.

In order to keep the base of the neck in the position where the pendulum fulcrum is, you need to rotate around your spine. What is often misunderstood is that this is different from “turning in place.”

If you try to rotate without changing your body position, the position of your spine will move, and you will no longer be able to maintain the fulcrum. The spine is located at the back of the body, so when you rotate around the spine, it feels like you are moving your body from side to side.

Because you move your body widely and your weight is transferred properly, it may seem like you are swaying from side to side, but the fulcrum position is maintained, resulting in a stable swing.

POINT: The body moves left and right while rotating.

Because the spine is located at the back of the body, when you rotate around the spine, your body moves side to side. This makes the swing arc larger, and you can increase your speed more efficiently.
