This will help alleviate the labor shortage in agriculture.
A study session was held in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture, to learn how to use an app that allows farmers to recruit short-term part-time workers during the busy season.
Farmers from Miyakonojo City and Mimata Town participated in the study session on the 27th, and an app was introduced that allows them to recruit part-time workers to help with farm work on a daily basis.
Last year, this app matched farmers and job seekers approximately 3,000 times within the prefecture, and is particularly useful during farming’s busy seasons. At the study session, a person in charge of the app explained how to recruit and what to be careful of.

“Basically we don’t have enough manpower. There are clear slow and busy seasons, so we do need more manpower during the busy seasons.”
“We found that there was a high demand for flexible hours, so if we can approach that, we would like to take advantage of our wide range of options and make it available when we need people quickly.”
The Kitamorokata Agriculture and Forestry Promotion Bureau, which held the study session, hopes that more farmers will make use of these apps, which will help alleviate the labor shortage.
