Kochi: Thrissur Magic FC’s desire to win at least in the last game of the Super League Kerala, where they could be eliminated without seeing the semi-finals, was crushed by their opponents Force Kochi. And the hosts celebrated a beautiful semi-entry.
Forza’s power brand Dorilton Gomes scored the winning goal for the team in the 81st minute after a draggy first half and start to the second half in Tuesday’s match at Kalur Stadium, Kochi. Forsa is in third place with 16 points from 10 games. In the 21st minute, forward Basanta Singh, who was near the box, failed to reach the Thrissur goal net when Dorilton Gomez, the Brazilian powerhouse of Forsa, failed to reach the cross from the right side. In the 26th minute Ngubo Sianta returned from injury and was replaced by K.P. Rahul.
There was no excitement or momentum in the second half either. It was only until the 81st minute that the Magicians managed to keep a goal on the field. Asif, who came as a substitute, paved the way in Kota. Asif’s ball was missed by Rahul and it went right to the feet of Thrissur’s Henry Anthony. Grabbing the ball from Henry’s momentary error, Dorilton wasted no time in striking.
