This is about the management of the prefectural hospital in Miyazaki Prefecture, which continues to be in the red.
At a special committee of the prefectural assembly on the 30th, last year’s financial statements of three prefectural hospitals in Miyazaki, Nichinan, and Nobeoka were reported, and it was revealed that the net profit or loss was more than 4.28 billion yen in the red.

This was revealed by the prefecture at the Health and Welfare Subcommittee of the Prefectural Assembly Special Committee on the 30th, and the net profit or loss of the three prefectural hospitals in Miyazaki, Nichinan, and Nobeoka last fiscal year was more than 4.28 billion yen in the red. .

This includes an extraordinary loss of over 1.9 billion yen associated with the demolition of the former Miyazaki Hospital, making the deficit the largest ever.

Meanwhile, the project team set up by the prefecture to check the income and expenditure plans of prefectural hospitals also reported their inspection results for the first time.

According to the results, although net income was in the red for the second consecutive year, it improved by more than 649 million yen compared to the income and expenditure plan.

Additionally, while the number of patients and active bed utilization rate has increased in Miyazaki and Nobeoka from the previous year, it has decreased in Nichinan.

For this reason, Nichinan Hospital plans to reduce the number of beds by 52 starting in December of this year in order to improve utilization rates.

The report by the project team will be conducted once again within the year.
