Ratnagiri : Two members of the Jindal company drowned in the sea at Ganapatipule, a famous pilgrimage site in the taluka, on Sunday evening. Lifeguards of Ganpatipule Gram Panchayat and local businessmen succeeded in saving one. There was a rush of tourists at Ganpatipule in the evening as it was a holiday on Sunday. Meanwhile, four employees of JSW Port Marine (Jindal) Company from Jaigad had come to Ganpatipule for a holiday in the evening. This time, when three people went into the sea, all three tried to go deep without predicting the pits in the sea. They drowned in it. The local lifeguards and professionals from Samudra Chowpati made a desperate effort to save these three youths. But in that, Mobbat Asif (age 35) resident of West Bengal currently residing in Jaigad and Pradeep Kumar (aged 35) residing in Odisha currently residing in Jaigad died due to drowning. While Thuku Dakwa (age 30) who lives in Uttarakhand at present Jaigad, lifeguards and local businessmen were successful in saving him. After pulling Mobbat Asif and Pradeep Kumar out of the water, they were taken to the primary health center in Malgund by Ganpatipule temple ambulance for immediate treatment. Thuku Dakwa has been treated and his condition is now stable.

The incident took place on Sunday evening around 5:30 in front of the toilet building on Ganpatipule sea. At this time, to save the three youths, the life guards of Ganapatipule Gram Panchayat Ajinkya Ramani, Aniket Rajwadkar, Mahesh Devrukhkar immediately jumped into the sea along with local businessmen Nikhil Surve and other businessmen rushed and cooperated to help. Further investigation of this incident is being done by the staff of Ganapatipule police station on behalf of Jaigad police station.
