Both Kumar Gaurav and Vijayta Pandit made their debut in 1981 with the film ‘Love Story’. This onscreen jodi got a lot of love from the audience. While working in this film, the two fell in love in real life. Kumar Gaurav was the son of superstar Rajendra Kumar. Rajendra Kumar did not approve of Gaurav and Vijayata’s relationship. In an interview to ‘Lehren Retro’, Vijayata spoke about her relationship with Kumar Gaurav. Vijayata has said that Rajendra Kumar decided to get his son married to Reema Kapoor to end the relationship between Vijayata and Kumar Gaurav. “Half of our film was shot and we were in love. Rajendra Kumar ji came to know that we fell in love so he decided to get Kumar Gaurav married to Reema Kapoor. He and Raj Kapoor had already decided to get their sons married, so he and Reema got engaged,” said Vijayata.

Vijayata was in love with Kumar Gaurav at that time, yet she went to his engagement (Kumar Gaurav Reema Kapoor Engagement). “I saw that Reema had put on him a big diamond ring, but he was so angry, he told me, ‘If you don’t like it, I will throw the ring away’. Then I left,” said Vijayata. Vijay claimed that Kumar Gaurav was in touch with Reema even after breaking up with her. When her parents objected, he promised to marry her. But after a few days, she came to know another thing about him, which shocked her.

Kumar Gaurav married Nargis’s daughter
Kumar Gaurav, who was talking to Vijayata even after breaking up with Reema, was on the one hand promising her father to marry Vijayata. On the other hand he was dating Namrata, daughter of Sunil Dutt and Nargis. “After a few days I came to know that he was having an affair with Namrata Dutt. He broke up with Reema, but at that time I had nothing to do with him,” said Vijayata.

Meanwhile, Raj Kapoor and Nargis had an affair. After the breakup, Nargis married Sunil Dutt. After breaking up with Raj Kapoor’s daughter, Kumar Gaurav married Nargis’s daughter Namrata in 1984, they have two daughters. Vijayata on the other hand married music composer Adesh Srivastava in 1990 and they have two children. Adesh passed away in 2015 due to cancer. Reema Kapoor is married to Manoj Jain and they have two children Aadar Jain and Armaan Jain.
