Attending were Ms. Bowinn Ma, Member of the Legislative Council of the Province of British Columbia, Ms. Marcie Flamand, on behalf of the Chief of Police of the City of Vancouver, Consuls General of ASEAN countries, representatives of agencies and businesses of the province of British Columbia. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s official visit to Vietnam in November 2017 and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Canada in July 2018 are clear messages about the desire of the two countries’ senior leaders to further promote relations. Comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Canada.

The Consul General believes that bilateral cooperation will continue to be strengthened and developed in the context that the two countries are both members of the recently signed Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). effective at the end of December 2018, just as Vietnam prepares to chair ASEAN in 2020 and Canada is one of ASEAN’s important partners.



For the Vietnamese community abroad and Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Canada in particular, Consul General Trinh Tu Lan affirms the consistent policy of the State and Government of Vietnam to consider people as human beings. Overseas Vietnamese are an integral part and a resource of the Vietnamese ethnic community.

Ms. Bowinn Ma, representing the leadership of the state of British Columbia, spoke to wish the Vietnamese community a Happy New Year and reviewed the positive features in the relationship between the state of British Columbia, the city of Vancouver and Vietnam, appreciating the role of the Consulate General of Vietnam in promoting all-round relations between the two sides and supporting the Vietnamese community in the Western states of Canada.

In the warm atmosphere of the Spring celebration party, distinguished guests and relatives had the opportunity to enjoy the rich flavors of some Vietnamese dishes during Tet, as well as special entertainment and dance programs. with the participation of a number of professional singers from Vietnam along with music and dance groups of the local Vietnamese community.
