The police arrested the grandfather with the initials S (74) who did it molestation to children on Jalan Galindra, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The police succeeded in arresting the perpetrator after the act of sexual abuse committed by an elderly person went viral on social media.

“We together with the Head of the Public Relations Section (Kasi) of Bripka Ricky Sihite then picked up the Criminal Investigation Unit and Bhabinkamtibmas of Kebon Kosong Village following up on the viral video and checking the scene and securing the alleged perpetrator with the initials S,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Kemayoran Police, AKP Fauzan, as reported by BetweenMonday (30/9/2024).

Fauzan explained that the victim was known to be a child with special needs. The police then checked the victim and went to the victim’s place of education at one of the special schools (SLB) for children with special needs.

“Then coordinate with the victim’s parents and teachers there regarding the viral video,” said Fauzan.

The victim was only 14 years old. To the police, the victim admitted that he had been given money by the perpetrator which resulted in an act of sexual immorality.

As previously reported, the harassment case was said to have occurred on Jalan Galindra, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta (Jakpus). The alleged molestation occurred in an open space.

The police investigated the case. The police coordinated with regional administrators to arrest the alleged perpetrator.

“The Criminal Investigation Unit and its members checked the crime scene and coordinated with the local RW head regarding the video. Then the alleged perpetrator and the alleged victim were identified,” said a statement from the Kemayoran Police, Monday (30/9).

Conjecture molestation What the perpetrator did made local residents angry. The perpetrator was detained at the RW office to prevent vigilantism by angry residents.

“Next, we secured the suspected perpetrator at the local RW post before finally taking him to the Kemayoran Police,” he said.

Police said the perpetrator and victim were not related. The perpetrator will be prosecuted further by the Women and Children Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

“The perpetrator is temporarily being detained at the Kemayoran Police before being handed over to the Central Jakarta Metro Police PPA Unit,” he explained.
