Three American journalists who were released from Russia in the largest prisoner exchange since the end of the Cold War have arrived at an air force base outside Washington.
The three people who arrived in the United States on the special plane were among the 24 people released in a prison exchange with Russia, including former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan and Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich.
President Biden and Vice President Harris welcomed them at the air force base, hugging and speaking with each member.
US President Biden
“Together we can accomplish anything, for we are the United States of America.”
Vice President Harris also emphasized that the exchange “shows how important it is to have a president who understands the power of diplomacy.”
