In the past, the deployment of military personnel to ensure the security of polling centers in Pakistan has been met with controversy, as some political leaders claimed that the army, with its presence in the polling centers, was looking for security to help the parties concerned. In the elections of 2018, when the government led by Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, hundreds of thousands of military personnel were deployed to ensure the security of the elections in the polling centers throughout the country. Some Pakistani analysts believe that now the Pakistan Army is supporting the Hizb Muslim League-N, led by Nawaz Sharif, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, in the elections.

However, the Pakistan Army rejected these claims and comments and said that the Pakistani military was neutral and did not support any faction in the elections.
