Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader V.D.Sathisan has said that the police raid on the house of Youth Congress leaders who protested for the construction of an elevated road in Kayamkulam is not acceptable.
At two o’clock in the morning, the police barged into the houses of the Youth Congress leaders like gangsters and quotation gangs. The police reached the houses of Kayamkulam North Constituency President Riaz Mundakam and leaders including Hashim Seth. The group in civilian clothes kicked open the door of the house and after arresting Hashim Seth, they beat him around the city for an hour in a police vehicle.
The attack on the house and the arrest were made on a false charge of assaulting the police after the Youth Congress activists who were protesting for the people’s cause were beaten up. Criminals in the police should not think that they can deal with political struggles with an iron fist. Police in Kerala should not degenerate into gangsters of CPM leaders. The state police chief should be ready to stop the policemen who are criminals.
VD said that if the criminals in the police are also determined to continue the rescue operation called by the Chief Minister, they will have to face serious consequences. Satheesan informed in the statement.
