Diamond coordinates create world-class “new wonders”
Planned on an area of up to 90 hectares, the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh is in the Top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world, a project that affirms the aspiration to enhance the position and national stature of the Vietnamese people.
As a national key project in the field of trade and services, the National Exhibition and Fair Center will be the venue for exhibitions, exchanges and large-scale events of regional and international stature. These activities are expected to create momentum for socio-economic development for the Capital Region and neighboring provinces and cities in the Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh growth triangle.
In terms of location, the project owns the last diamond coordinate in the Northeast of the Capital, with one direction being the historical inner city and the other direction being close to the gateway to the world of the whole North – Noi Bai International Airport. Thanks to that, from the project, it only takes 15 minutes to travel to Noi Bai and 2-4 hours of flight to reach the economic capitals of the region and continent.
According to the general planning for the construction of the capital until 2030, with a vision to 2050, the transport infrastructure of Dong Anh and the northern region will be increasingly improved, with more bridges crossing the Duong and Red rivers, especially Tu Lien bridge. Along with that, Ring Road 4 is expected to be completed before 2027, Noi Bai International Airport is expected to increase its capacity to 100 million passengers… Thanks to that, international visitors to Dong Anh in general and the National Exhibition and Fair Center in particular will be increasingly convenient and fast.
Currently, the National Exhibition and Fair Center has the ability to connect in multiple directions thanks to a complete and modern road traffic network. These are the Thang Long – Noi Bai Expressway (Vo Van Kiet Street), Nhat Tan – Noi Bai Expressway (Vo Nguyen Giap Street), extended National Highway 5, including Truong Sa Street and Hoang Sa Street, National Highway 3, new National Highway 3 (Hanoi – Thai Nguyen Expressway), Road 23B, National Highway 23A… In particular, Nhat Tan and Dong Tru bridges have been put into operation, helping to reduce the pressure on Thang Long Bridge, helping traffic flow smoothly towards the center of Hanoi and the northern region.
It is expected that this year, Hanoi will start the Tu Lien Bridge project and the road from Tu Lien Bridge to Hanoi – Thai Nguyen Expressway, with a total investment of nearly 20,000 billion VND. This will be a project that creates a turning point, bringing the entire Dong Anh area closer to the existing urban core (Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Tay Ho districts…) with a distance of only 5 minutes. With super-connected infrastructure and many options for transportation, visitors’ travel to the National Exhibition and Fair Center will be increasingly convenient and easy.
New “runway” for the capital’s economy to take off
Built by Vingroup, the National Exhibition and Fair Center carries the strong Vietnamese spirit, expressing the desire to join hands for a prosperous and developed Capital. Accordingly, this “new wonder” when combined with a series of other highlight projects will contribute to giving Hanoi a more spacious, modern appearance with a bustling trade rhythm to truly become a globally connected city.
According to the International Exhibitions Association (UFI), world-class exhibition centers contribute approximately $325 billion to the global economy each year. This figure includes direct revenues from exhibitions, conferences, and visitor spending on services such as hotels, restaurants, and transportation.
In the US, the Las Vegas Convention Center is a prime example. In 2019, the center contributed nearly $2 billion to the local economy and created about 13,000 jobs.
International exhibition centers are also a driving force for the development of cities’ transport infrastructure. To meet the travel needs of large numbers of international tourists and business people, many cities have invested heavily in upgrading airports, public transport systems and road networks. For example, Expo 2020 in Dubai prompted the government to invest billions of dollars in expanding Al Maktoum International Airport and building additional metro lines. These improvements not only better serve the event but also facilitate future residents and visitors.
In particular, international exhibition centers also contribute to enhancing the image and brand of cities in the international arena. The successful organization of major events such as World Expo or CES has helped the cities of Dubai and Las Vegas become the most attractive destinations in the world.
Therefore, the birth of the National Exhibition and Fair Center is expected to “pin” Hanoi on the world economic and tourism map as one of the new must-see destinations for investors, businesses and tourists from all over the world. At the same time, this project of the world’s Top 10 scale will become a new symbol of prosperity, opening a new “runway” for the capital’s economy to take off following the potential Expo model.
