The promotional video and key visual for “The New Prince of Tennis U-17 WORLD CUP SEMIFINAL” (broadcast on TV Tokyo and other channels from October 2nd), the sequel to the TV anime “The New Prince of Tennis U-17 WORLD CUP”, have been released.
The opening theme will be “Wake up” sung by the up-and-coming young singer Kidella.
The Prince of Tennis (Tenipuri) is a tennis manga that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1999 to 2008, with the second series, The New Prince of Tennis, being serialized in Jump Square since 2009. The story follows the protagonist, Ryoma Echizen, a middle school student, as he grows up together with his friends.
It was made into a TV anime series on TV Tokyo in October 2001, and later became a popular series with events and film adaptations. The first TV anime in 10 years since “The New Prince of Tennis” aired until March 2012, “The New Prince of Tennis U-17 WORLD CUP” will be broadcast in 2022, and the story will continue after the OVA series “The New Prince of Tennis OVA vs Genius10” released in 2014.
In “The New Prince of Tennis U-17 WORLD CUP,” the stage shifted to the Kanto Tournament, National Tournament, and World Tournament, where players competed in heated matches against representatives from each country.
