Kanpur: The India-Bangladesh Test at the Kanpur Granpark Stadium was abandoned on the third day without even a single ball being bowled. The rain has changed, but the wetness of the ground has not changed due to overcast weather. The ground was inspected in the morning and afternoon, but it was judged that the conditions were not favorable to continue the game.
The match has been rained out since the first day and has not been played for two days. A 35 over match was played on the first day but not a single ball was bowled on the second and third day. The outfield was wet when checked at 10am. Not enough sun was also a setback. It was decided not to start the game in the morning seeing that batting on the pitch would be difficult. An inspection conducted at 12 noon also found that the outfield was wet. Even though the rain has cleared, there is less sunlight.
India won the toss and sent Bangladesh into bat on the first day. The visitors are 107 for three in 35 overs. Mominul Haque (40) and Mushfiqur Rahim are at the crease. Akash Deep took two wickets while R. Ashwin takes a wicket.
