Israeli officials say that an Israeli woman, including a 17-year-old boy and two Thai citizens, were released by the Hamas group on Tuesday, November 28 (the seventh day of the truce).
With the release of this group, the total number of hostages released from Hamas has reached 86. In addition to the release of 60 Israelis as part of the ceasefire agreement, 19 Thai hostages, one Filipino and one Russian-Israeli have also been released from Hamas.
The release of these hostages would be accompanied by the release of 30 Palestinians from Israeli prisons.
According to the four-day temporary ceasefire agreement, Hamas was supposed to release 50 hostages and Israel 150 Palestinian prisoners.
The four-day ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza began at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24 (Sunday) and was scheduled to continue until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry announced on Monday that Hamas and Israel agreed to extend the ceasefire in Gaza for another 48 hours.
Based on the agreement to extend the ceasefire, Hamas will release two other groups of hostages on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Israeli officials say that Hamas militants killed 1,200 people and took 240 hostages during the attack on Israel on October 7.
In response, Israel launched air and ground attacks on Gaza in the past few weeks, as a result of which, according to the Gaza health authorities, more than 15,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, were killed.
