The Osaka Prefectural Police South Police Station announced on the 29th that the body of a woman found late on the night of the 28th in a hotel room in Dotonbori, Chuo Ward, Osaka City, has been identified as a 17-year-old unemployed girl from Ikuno Ward, Osaka City. The man who entered the hotel with the girl has not been found, and police believe he may have some knowledge of the situation and are looking for him.

According to the police, the identity of the girl was identified through an investigation of the smartphone she was carrying. The hotel’s security cameras showed the man entering the hotel with the girl on the evening of the 28th, but they did not show him leaving the hotel. The entrance to the room the girl was in on the second floor was locked, but the window was unlocked.

It is said that there were no obvious injuries on the girl, and the police station will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, as well as continuing to investigate the possibility that she may have been involved in the incident.
