Tarang School of Indian Dance and Music makes dancing in Sweden awe-inspiring

Stockholm ∙ Tarang School of Indian Dance and Music has created a new wave of Indian arts by bringing together Swedish citizens and Indians in Sweden. This year, at the Namaste Stockholm event held in collaboration with the Indian Embassy and India Unlimited, they thrilled the audience with their performance.

The theme of this performance is ‘Tarang Katwatva’ or ‘Panchabhuta’. Various Indian dance forms were performed representing the five demons namely Bhumi, Jalam, Agni, Vayu and Akasha. Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi represented the earth, Vallamkali dance represented water, Bibojan’s patriotism represented fire in Kathak, Bollywood hip-hop represented air and ISRO’s launch represented sky.

Tarang School of Indian Dance and Music, which started with just 16 students, grew to teach Indian dance to more than 250 students within a year. 53 dancers danced to a patriotic song called Kalasha Kotai. Swathi Anish, Adrija P Menon and Deepika Narayan Vinayak acted as the drivers of this acting wonder.

This school has participated in the Namaste Stockholm event for the first year, which has been going on for the past 8 years. But the program presented this year was marked in the minds of the audience. Over 10000 people participated in the event and Tarang School’s performance received a standing ovation.
