[Kyodo News, June 17]Members of the industry group “HTFA” composed of semiconductor-related Taiwanese companies including the world’s largest semiconductor foundry “Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd.” (TSMC) visited the research facilities of Tohoku University in Sendai City on the 17th. It is reported that they will strengthen cooperation in cutting-edge semiconductor technology in the future.
The delegation of 19 people visited the Institute of Electrical Communications of Tohoku University and exchanged ideas with researchers. The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Miyagi Prefecture government, where Governor Murai Yoshihiro said, “I hope that Miyagi Prefecture will be chosen when building a factory.” At the closed-door meeting, Miyagi Prefecture promoted the investment environment.
