The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that in order to prevent the nine Qianlong imperial steles on the south side of the Tanah Lot Temple from being damaged due to construction, preparatory work for protective measures will be carried out starting tomorrow; in addition, the Chikan Tower will also be closed on July 1 and 2 The park is closed on Sundays for conversion of Phases 1 and 2 of the restoration project.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau explained that due to long-term use and various hazards of the climate and environment, Chikan Tower has cracked and damaged the building itself, and the equipment is old and in urgent need of repair. Therefore, about 30 years after the previous repair, it will be renovated on March 31, 2022. Restoration work started again. This restoration project will be carried out in two phases. In the first phase, Wenchang Pavilion will be restored first and tourists will be allowed to visit Tanah Lot Temple; in the second phase, the reverse will be done.
