On the eighth day of the Paris Paralympics on the 4th, Ayano Tsujiuchi (27) of Mitsubishi Corporation won the bronze medal in the women’s 100m freestyle (visually impaired S12) swimmer.
Tsujiuchi, who is from Tokyo, participated in the National High School Inter-High School Championships during high school. After entering university, he was diagnosed with macular dystrophy, a progressive eye disease, and switched to para swimming. In his first Paralympic appearance at the 2021 Tokyo Games, he placed 7th in the 50m freestyle (visual impairment S13).
