SV Eglofs remains in the top group

Things are tight at the top of the table in the A3 district football league. With 16 points each, SV Aichstetten (1st), FC Isny (2nd) and SV Eglofs (3rd) are at the top and are only separated by the goal difference, as table leader Aichstetten only had a draw at the SGM on Saturday Dietmanns/Hauerz came.

Controversial free kick

SV Eglofs, on the other hand, stole three important points from Amtzell. “It wasn’t a great game technically, but ultimately the win was deserved – we believe in ourselves and we can win games like this,” says Eglofs coach Dietmar Dengler. SV Amtzell had already taken a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute through Dennis Steidle before Julian Kolb equalized with a free kick goal (16th). Amtzell believed the free kick was unjustified and expressed this vehemently, referee Selvet Filiz saw it differently.

The first half then had two sendings off and one goal. First, Amtzell’s coach Dejan Durst was expelled from the dugout (30th) and in added time Severin Birk saw the yellow-red card (45th +3). In between, Eglofs’ opening goal came in the 42nd minute. Christian Reischmann curled a free kick from 22 meters into the top corner. “Reischmann takes advantage of such opportunities,” says coach Dengler happily.

Amtzell storms with ten men

In the second half, Amtzell took over the game, and in the 68th minute, SVA defender Tinus Baumann took heart, marched centrally through the Eglofs defense and made it 2-2. “He recognized the gap well,” praised Dengler and added: “Amtzell was in control at that point – and he was outnumbered.”

But SV Eglofs wanted the three points and put more pressure forward in the remaining time. The 3-2 winning goal came in the 83rd minute after “the best move of the game,” as the SVE coach called it. Eglofs had elegantly brought Julian Kolb into shooting position with a one-two, and Stefan Reutlinger sank the rebound. “It was happy, but deserved,” said Dengler.

Aichstetten loses points

SV Aichstetten lost ground with a 2-2 draw at SGM Dietmanns/Hauerz. Lukas Kling saved at least one point with a brace after being 2-0 down.

FC Isny turned the home game against SG Kißlegg with three late goals from Matthias Gorgol (82nd, FE), Luan Mulaj (90th + 2) and Gökhan Bayrak (90th + 8) and ultimately won 4-2.

The eighth matchday of the A3 district league will take place on Thursday (3 p.m.). Aichstetten welcomes TSV Ratzenried, Isny has to go to TSV Röthenbach and Eglofs hosts SV Gebrazhofen.
