A small mistake in the final lap cost Geiger a possible victory. In the end, he was 0.062 behind winner Bruno Ieraci (Kawasaki). Geiger finished the first race on Saturday in tenth place. In the championship, Geiger is in third place after three of eight events.
“It was a really tough day and a really tough race,” commented Geiger. “I pushed really hard on every lap. On the last lap I made a small mistake that cost me the win. But I’m still very happy about the podium.”
“I want to dedicate this podium to KTM and my team. They have worked really hard. Now we are on the podium and I hope that more top-three results will follow. Hopefully we will move up one position,” says the 20-year-old from Mannheim.
