Successful weekend for Wurzach bowlers

Association League, Men, TSG Bad Wurzach 1 – VfL Stuttgart-Kaltental 2:6 (3437:3464)

On Saturday, the men’s team 1 of TSG Bad Wurzach hosted the newly promoted VfL Stuttgart-Kaltental. It was clear that it would be an exciting duel between the two newly promoted teams, and so the Wurzach team went into the game motivated, but never found the necessary relaxation. Pascal Dosch had to give up his team point (MP) against the best player of the day with 561 to 642 pins. At the same time, Gerhard Weber was able to win his MP with 567 to 535.

The middle pair started the race with -49 wood. Benedikt Bauer had the better result with 558 to 554 wood, but the MP went to his opponent due to the set points won. His teammate Maximilian Model was in top form and clearly won his MP with 614 to 562. The Wurzach final pair got into the game well and were able to extend their lead after the first two lanes. But the duo then lost the thread and the guests were able to play to their strengths. In the end, Jan Giray (566:577) and Marco Hlawatschek (571:594) had to give up their MP and the total wood. Next Saturday the first team will play at 1 p.m. against SG Aulendorf and, according to the club’s statement, will try to give their best in the local derby in order to win.

Oberliga Südwürttemberg, Men, TSG Bad Wurzach 2 – TSV Niederstotzingen 6:2 (3372:3304)

In order to survive in the top league, the second team must perform consistently well this season. An easy game against the guests from Niederstotzingen was not to be expected – the team has played in higher leagues before. But Wurzach took the lead right from the start and were able to hold on to it until the end.

Arnold Zapf beat his opponent with 545 to 523. Tobias Müller was able to improve from lane to lane and won his MP with a strong 616 to 597 pins. In the middle pair, A-youth player Manuel Stölzle could not quite hide his excitement and was unable to find his usual performance. He had to give up his MP with 525 to 545, but did not lose much pin. Florian Hauton showed a good performance and defeated his opponent with 558 to 520 pins.

With three MP and +59 wood, they had good conditions for a win. In the final pair, Pascal Dosch played his second game of the day and was once again defeated by the guests’ best player with 578 to 581. Fabian Lang fought a duel on equal terms and was able to win his MP in the end with 550 to 538. The second team will play at EKC Lonsee 2 on Saturday at 2 p.m.
