- 2.Join The Constellation
- 3.Join UC Vanguard
- 4.Join Crimson Fleet
- 5.Join Freestar Collective
- 6.Join Ryujin Industries
- 7.Join all factions or switch?
Join all factions in Starfield
Luckily, in Starfield you can join all factions at the same time. For example, if you join the Crimson Fleet space pirates, other parties will not reject you. It is possible to become friends with all parties in one playthrough. The list of factions is as follows:
- The Constellation
- UC Vanguard
- Freestar Collective
- Ryujin Industries
- Crimson Fleet
It is advisable to join each faction, as each has its own extensive quest line, some with powerful rewards. The factions also give you various advantages and also access to new dealers.
Below we will show you the earliest time you can meet each faction and what is necessary to join them.
Join The Constellation
The Constellation is the faction of the main quest and not optional. During the story you will automatically complete their missions.
Join UC Vanguard
Follow the main quest until you automatically meet Commander John Tuala during the 2nd mission “The Old Homeland”. He will want to recruit you for UC Vanguard during the interview. You can agree and join here directly or reject it first.
If you decline, you will unlock an entry in your activities menu that tells you to talk to Tuala about joining. Follow this quest whenever you want to talk to Tuala again and join the UC Vanguard.
Join Crimson Fleet
To join the Crimson Fleet, you should first have joined the United Colonies as explained in the previous paragraph and completed their first two faction missions “Supra et Ultra” and “Routine Work”. You will then receive the quest “Undercover”, in which you are supposed to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet.
Simply follow the quest markers here and you will then receive the follow-up quest “Rook Meets King”, in which you will ultimately meet the leader of the Crimson Fleet. After the conversation you will automatically join the Space Pirates.
A notice: This is simply the earliest possible opportunity to join the Crimson Fleet. You’ll have more options for this later.
Join Freestar Collective
You can find the Freestar Rangers in Akila City on the planet Akila in the Cheyenne system. You can head to this star system northeast of the Alpha Centauri system (New Atlantis). After arriving in Akila City, you will automatically encounter a hostage situation in front of a bank.
Offer your help here to start the “Bank Robbery with Obstacles” quest. Whether you solve the quest peacefully or brutally is up to you. The follow-up quest “Duty Calls” then starts automatically. Complete all tasks here and you will officially become a Ranger Deputy. You even get an outfit and the powerful Deadeye revolver.
Join Ryujin Industries
Head to the star system Volii → Planet: Volii Alpha → Neon. Neon City is home to the headquarters of Ryujin Industries. After the first landing, run straight towards the elevator to go up to the city.
Directly in front of you you will see a wall with a red dragon and a terminal next to it. Fill out the registration form for the job here. By the way, your answers don’t matter here. Even if you choose the worst possible answers, you will then receive the faction quest “Back to Work”.
Follow the quest markers to get to the interview at Ryujin industries headquarters. Your answers don’t matter in the interview either. Continue completing all tasks and finally speak to Imogene to become a full member of “Ryujin Industries”.
Join all factions or switch?
Changing factions is not necessary in Starfield, as you can be a member of all factions at the same time. The parties are not mutually exclusive and you are welcome to join any of them.
