[June 28, KOREA WAVE]Local police in Yesan County, South Chungcheong Province, South Korea received a report that a man had broken into a jewelry store, stolen a gold necklace, and fled.

Around the same time, a taxi driver contacted us, reporting that a man had taken a taxi from Yesan County to Seosan City and then failed to pay the fare.

After hearing from the driver about the suspect’s appearance and clothing, the police realized that he might be the same person suspected in the theft of the gold necklace.To prevent further crimes, the police went around to the jewelry stores in Seosan and reported the suspect’s appearance and clothing.

Then, a man suspected of theft showed up at a jewelry store. Since the store had already been warned by the police, the store manager quickly went outside and called the police.

The man suspected of theft sensed a presence and tried to run away, but was stopped by police officers who arrived on the scene.

When police showed the man the footage, he denied it, saying, “It wasn’t me.” However, after further questioning by the police, the man eventually admitted to the charges and was arrested on suspicion of theft.
