Referreport
In May, the loudspeaker manufacturer Sonos released a completely revised version of its smartphone app, which was intended to lay the foundation for future functions and devices. But after less than two weeks, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence had to personally apologize in an open letter. The reason: the new app has serious functional problems. Since then, the US company has been trying to limit the damage – and has recently resorted to more than unusual means: Sonos has released a board with planned innovations in a tool called Trello, which companies usually use for project management. This is intended to give users a better insight into the development of the problematic app.
Community manager’s own initiative
The recently Reddit published Trello board by Sonos was created by the company’s community manager. According to the corresponding post, he organizes the board independently and draws on announcements and release notes that the audio device-specialized company and its CEO Patrick Spence have published in various places in recent weeks. Under “On The Roadmap” you can find entries such as “full queue editing” and “playlist editing”.
No exact date for introduction yet
In the “Coming Soon” category, which according to the description contains new features that will be released shortly, the continuous optimization of the user interface and an “improvement in volume responsiveness” are announced. However, the community manager also stresses that the list is not complete and that Sonos is working on other features that are not included there. However, he does not say what these are, nor when exactly the new features described in the tool will make it into the app.
