Solemn Hung King’s Death Anniversary in Malaysia

According to a VNA reporter in Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hao, Head of the Vietnamese Liaison Committee in Johor State, presided over the 2022 Hung Kings’ Commemoration Ceremony in Malaysia. During the sacred moment, he read the eulogy to the ancestors, the Hung Kings, who opened the nation’s source, established the Van Lang State, laid the foundation for the everlasting development of the Vietnamese nation and people, and the heroes who fought off foreign invaders and preserved the beautiful landscape of Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Tran Viet Thai and all embassy staff, Vietnamese representative agencies and overseas Vietnamese representatives in the area performed solemn rituals, offered incense and flowers, and respectfully paid tribute to the merits of 18 Hung Kings and their ancestors.

At the 2022 Hung King’s Commemoration Ceremony, on the Hung King’s altar in Malaysia, a bit of ancestral soil and sacred water from the Hung King Temple in Phu Tho were solemnly placed, brought from Vietnam by Ambassador Tran Viet Thai, and the ritual of spreading ancestral soil around the national flagpole was an affirmation of the lasting sovereignty of Vietnam.

According to Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hao, the 2022 Hung King Commemoration Ceremony is very special with the joint efforts of the entire Vietnamese community in Malaysia from liaison committees, associations, and volunteer groups, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, joining hands and wholeheartedly paying respect to the origin, together maintaining the beauty of the cultural beliefs of worshipping Hung Kings and ancestors.

Sharing with the community, Ambassador Tran Viet Thai highlighted the significance of the Hung King’s death anniversary and emphasized that this is a very meaningful activity, gathering the spirit and values ​​of the Vietnamese people through thousands of years of building and defending the country.

Also at the ceremony, Ambassador Tran Viet Thai launched a fundraising campaign to support officers and soldiers working on Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 platform in 2022. All the money raised will be sent to representatives of the community to attend the trip to Truong Sa organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in 2022 and delivered directly to officers, soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform. The program is expected to last until May 15 before the visit to Truong Sa takes place.

Unable to hide her emotions during the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, a worker in Malaysia since 2014, expressed her joy and honor at being able to attend the sacred ceremonies honoring her ancestors, meeting and sharing with Vietnamese people in Malaysia and together preserving the beauty of traditional culture. She hopes that in the coming years, more and more Vietnamese people will gather to attend the Ancestor Commemoration Ceremony, preserving the tradition of remembering the source of water and the beauty of Vietnamese culture in Malaysia.

After the ceremony, Ambassador Tran Viet Thai awarded certificates of completion of the professional knowledge and skills training course of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to teachers of the Vietnamese Language Class organized by the Vietnamese Women’s Association in Malaysia.

In a solemn and warm atmosphere, the delegates enjoyed the performances by the community, recalling the heroic atmosphere with the Lac Hong Bloodline dance, songs praising the homeland, martial arts performances by the children of the Vietnamese Language Class and sharing a cozy meal with dishes full of the homeland’s flavors.
