On Friday, August 23, Sogang University (President Jong-hyuk Sim) signed an MOU with i-HUB DivyaSampark, an organization that supports startups and technological innovation at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee), as part of its efforts to promote international industry-academia cooperation projects.
Through this MOU, the two organizations will focus on cooperating to create a global startup innovation ecosystem, and will cooperate to: ▲ develop startup education programs specialized in deep tech fields such as AI, semiconductors, robots, and blockchain, and promote mutual student exchanges; ▲ discover excellent technologies to solve social problems; and ▲ jointly promote startup incubation and startup funding programs.
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is a national research-oriented engineering university located in the city of Roorkee in the state of Uttarakhand. Established in 1847, it is the second oldest engineering university in Asia and the oldest in India.
It operates 22 departments in four fields, focusing on science and technology, but also encompassing management and humanities, and has i-HUB DivyaSampark, an institution that focuses on technology development, human resources, technology incubation, startups, and international collaboration research, in line with the projects promoted by the Indian government (Department of Science & Technology).
