“I don’t think this information revolution is meant to bring about the downfall of humanity. It is ultimately for the happiness of people. At least when it comes to medicine, the AI capabilities that can pass the national exam today will increase 1,000 times, then 1 million times, then 1 billion times. It would be a shame not to use it.”

SoftBank Group announced today that it will establish a joint venture with an American medical startup company to start a service that uses AI to analyze personal genetic information and medical data to help with cancer treatment and other areas.

“Unfortunately, my father also passed away last year. The cause of death was cancer. I cried every day. My father’s final moments were truly tragic. I want to reduce the sadness caused by illness and death.”

Speaking from his own experience, CEO Son emphasized, “We want to use AI to reduce the number of people who die from cancer.”

The plan is to begin collecting anonymous medical data from hospitals across the country within the year and use AI to provide medical support in the field of cancer.
