Payyanad (Mancheri) ∙ Kannur Warriors FC got off to a great start by defeating Thrissur Magic FC 2-1 in the Kerala Super League 2nd match. After trailing by one goal in the first half, Kannur made a huge comeback in the last moments of the match. In the 36th minute, Abhijit Sarkar scored the first goal for Thrissur from the pass of former Indian player CK Vineeth (1-0).

Spanish player David Grande scored the reply goal in the 71st minute for the Kannur team who rose up in the second half (1-1). The Thrissur team was reduced to 10 men as Henry Anthony was sent off with a second yellow card for Kannur captain Adrian Sardino bringing down Korpa near the box.

In the 94th minute, another Spanish player Alvaro Alvarez Fernandez scored the winning goal for Kannur (2-1). Alvaro is the Cayman in the game. On Tuesday, Calicut FC and Thiruvananthapuram Kompans FC will clash at Kozhikode Corporation Stadium.
