Miami Open tennis, March 27, saw second seed Jannik Sinner of Italy and defending champion Daniil Medvedev both win their men’s singles quarterfinals to set up a semifinal meeting.

The match between the two will be a rematch of this year’s Australian Open final, won by Sinner, and last year’s Miami Open final, won by Medvedev.

On that day, Sinner beat Tomas Machac of the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-2 in straight sets, while Medvedev beat 22nd seed Nicolas Jarry of Chile 6-2, 7-6 (9-7).

Sinner came back from two sets down to win his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. “I won the first two sets and that was enough in Miami,” Medvedev joked. “Of course this is a different match and he will adapt,” he added. “I’ll be 100 percent prepared to win and make it difficult for him.” (c)AFP
