Sejong University (President Eom Jong-hwa) Metal Organic Compound Advanced Materials Application Core Research Support Center held the 3rd XPS training at Gwanggaeto Hall of Sejong University from August 19 to 21.
This training was conducted to improve the basic theory, analysis ability, and application technology of XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) for students on and off campus, as well as those working in related fields and researchers.
In particular, this training has extended the training period compared to previous trainings due to the increasing demand for training on XPS data analysis practice. The data analysis practice of this training was very helpful in improving the participants’ research understanding and capabilities by conducting data analysis practice directly through the participants’ experimental samples.
A total of 60 people, including students from Sejong University, Sungkyunkwan University, Hanyang University, and other universities, as well as related workers and researchers, participated in the three-day training.
In the theoretical education held on the 20th, Sejong University Core Research Support Center Director Kim Seon-jae gave an opening speech, and Hanbat National University Professor Lee Yeon-seung was in charge of △ XPS basic theory education △ XPS advanced theory education △ XPS special function and application education. As the last order of the theoretical education, Sejong University Nano-New Material Engineering Department Professor Yang Hyeon-woo conducted a Core Research Support Center, XPS Lab Tour.
The XPS data analysis hands-on training, held over two days on the 19th and 21st, was led by Professor Lee Yeon-seung of Hanbat National University and Senior Researcher Yoo Hyeon-jeong, XPS specialist at Sejong University.
Center Director Kim Seon-jae said, “As the semiconductor industry is currently booming, the need for experts is increasing as the understanding and utilization of XPS is receiving attention,” and “Although the existing education was focused on theory, we will do our best to strengthen the practical skills of participants by increasing the proportion of customized practical education in the future.”
