Space technology company Maxar Technologies on February 24th released satellite imagery of locations before and after the attack, to mark two years since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The images show houses that were heavily damaged in Russian military attacks, as well as the dam at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in Russian-controlled territory, which exploded and collapsed in June 2023, and the widespread flooding of residential areas as a result.

The video also shows the transformation of Avdiivka, a hotly fought battleground in eastern Ukraine that Russia announced it had “completely seized” earlier this month. (c)AFP
