Samsung is too early: Two brand new phones have already been unveiled

Referreport

Samsung is holding the next Galaxy Unpacked event in a few weeks, where many new products will be presented. Some details have already leaked out in advance. But now Samsung itself has apparently made a big mistake. The South Korean company has published a picture of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. This reveals a big secret.

Samsung shows the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in advance

The next Samsung event is scheduled to take place on July 10, 2024, where the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be officially presented. There has already been a lot of speculation and revelations about the changed design of the folding smartphone Z Fold 6. And indeed, the device will change significantly visually. Instead of the rounded and rather elongated shape, the new generation is much more angular and is much more reminiscent of a Galaxy S24 Ultra:

While the Galaxy Z Flip 6 has hardly changed visually compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 looks like a completely different smartphone. When I first saw the leak, I thought it was a fake. The image was apparently found directly at Samsung in Kazakhstan. It is very likely that this is a real promotional image for the new folding smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is much more angular and no longer looks quite as elongated. This has already been speculated in the rumor mill. In addition, the S Pen is not visible. Can it perhaps be pushed into the casing? That would of course be great. The modified frame might even allow it.

For comparison, you can look at the current generation of folding phones:

Samsung loses out on the folding phone market

Samsung recently sold over 40 percent fewer folding smartphones in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in the previous year and lost market leadership to Huawei. But Honor and Motorola are also catching up in leaps and bounds. Samsung must therefore be successful to avoid further decline. It will be interesting to see whether this works with the new generation.
