In the case of software development positions, a practical SW competency test is conducted that involves directly coding and solving a given problem. Design positions are selected through a design portfolio review.
Since Samsung introduced the public recruitment system for the first time as a domestic company in 1957, it has continuously promoted innovation in its personnel system to implement competency-centered personnel management in accordance with the management philosophy of ‘talent first’ for the past 70 years.
In 1993, it established Korea’s first open recruitment system for new female college graduates, and in 1995, it abolished customary discrimination such as excluding educational background from employment qualifications.
In addition, in order to strengthen research and development (R&D) competitiveness, in addition to recruiting new employees, we are also recruiting experienced domestic workers and excellent foreign students.
Samsung emphasized that in addition to recruiting, it is strengthening various efforts to foster high school graduates and young talent.
The training target of Samsung Youth SW Academy (SSAFY) has been expanded from university graduates to Meister High School graduates. Starting with the 13th SSAFY, which begins recruiting in October of this year, we have decided to recruit trainees from Meister High School graduates and provide opportunities for high school graduates to grow into SW developers.
In addition, we are also operating a ‘recruitment-linked intern system’ in which scholarship students from Meister High School are selected to do internship training during vacation and can join Samsung after graduation.
Samsung explained that it is specially recruiting students who have achieved excellent results in the National Skills Competition. From 2007 to last year, Samsung Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Display, etc. hired a total of 1,600 high school graduate technical talents.
