On September 30, Deep State, a leading military media outlet in Ukraine that has been invaded by Russia, reported that Russian forces had invaded Ugledal, a small city in the eastern Donetsk region, the site of the most intense battle, from two directions: the west and the south. There are increasing voices pointing out the fear of collapse.

Ugredal is an important defense base for the Ukrainian military located southwest of Donetsk, the regional capital. The 72nd Independent Mechanized Brigade, an elite unit of the Ukrainian army, has been defending the area for nearly two years, but it has not been able to replace it with other units as it is exhausted from the long battle. According to local media, Ukraine dismissed the brigade’s commander by the 29th.

Meanwhile, on the 30th, Pushilin, the head of a pro-Russian armed group in the Donetsk region, claimed that although the Ukrainian military sent reinforcements to Ugledal, they were poorly trained and “most of them surrendered.” TASS reported.

It is believed that the Russian army’s plan is to seize control of Ugledal and seize control of the entire Donetsk region, which is their main goal. On the 30th, Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed that it had newly captured the village of Nerepovka near Tretsk in the Russian region.
