[Ta Kung Pao News]According to CNN: US President Biden and former President Trump will hold a debate in Atlanta on June 27. According to the latest published rules, the debate will last 90 minutes, during which the microphone can be muted, and only the microphone of the party whose turn it is to speak will have sound. There will be two moderators for this debate, and there will be no audience in the studio.

Biden and Trump agreed in May to hold two televised debates before the election, the first hosted by CNN and the second hosted by ABC on September 10.

According to CNN, the campaign teams of both parties have agreed that the candidates will appear on the same podium, and who will stand on which podium will be decided by tossing a coin. Teleprompters or notes are not allowed on the stage, and candidates are only given a pen, a stack of paper and a bottle of water.

The debate, held in Atlanta, Georgia, will last 90 minutes, with two commercial breaks, during which campaign staff cannot interact with the candidates. Trump and Biden’s final debate of 2020 was full of tension, with Trump repeatedly interrupting Biden, who at one point snapped, “Will you shut up, man?”

After Biden finished the G7 summit in Italy, he rushed to a campaign fundraising event in Los Angeles, California on the 15th. The event, attended by former President Obama, famous Hollywood actors Julia Roberts and George Clooney, raised $28 million (about HK$218 million) in campaign funds for Biden, setting a new record for a Democratic politician’s single fundraising event, highlighting Hollywood’s loyalty to the Democratic Party.
